Technological Update In School Management Teams

This project aims to foster the digital transformation of our schools, both in the school management procedures and in the teaching/learning methodologies. One of the main objects is to plan a training program to provide the staff of our schools with the appropriate digital skills.

It is obvious that in today’s world new technologies have been introduced to stay and their presence is increasingly significant and offers more possibilities. This reality must be incorporated into our schools by promoting a transformation of the learning and teaching methodology and also, of course, of the way in which the schools are managed.

The use of new technologies make the multiple tasks associated with the management of schools, carried out by management teams, easier and more efficient, saving time. To use digital technologies, the school facilities need to be equipped with the appropriate tools (digital blackboards, laptops, etc.). The digital transformation of our schools will involve substantial changes to adapt classrooms to the right technology (hardware). It will be necessary to search for information, discuss and reach agreements on which specific tools are the most suitable and it is necessary to have them in the classrooms to carry out the implementation of this methodological change.

To bring about a digital transformation in the classroom by using digital environments (G-Suite, Moodle, Classroom) it will also be necessary to assess which softwares to use and which are compatible with the technology (hardware) present in the classrooms.

Intense continuous training is necessary to provide our staff (administrators, teachers, and non-teaching staff) with the appropriate digital skills. This training will have to be specifically about the hardware and software we choose, to make this digital transformation really meaningful and have an impact on our schools.

Another of the main objectives of the project, which we project in a more transversal and indirect way, but no less important, is the achievement of several of the objectives of sustainable development of the UN, specifically the 4 (Quality Education), the 11 (Cities and Sustainable Communities) and 13 (Climate Action). For example, to replace the use of paper in our schools, mainly when communicating with teachers, students and families, thereby becoming more digitally and environmentally sustainable. Logically, this implementation of new technologies will greatly save paper and physical media as we will prioritize digital environments.

And finally, we would like to aim at catering for the diversity of our students by using digital technologies adapted to their special needs and providing those students with poor economic resources with the necessary equipment to make education in our centers as inclusive as possible.
