An aligned model for continuous development of teachers and school leaders

"The Learning Turbine" emphasizes a continuous, collaborative approach to professional development for teachers and school leaders, aiming to enhance student learning outcomes. Teachers are encouraged to adopt an "assessment for learning" mindset, viewing student feedback as an opportunity for their own growth.

School leaders play a pivotal role by fostering environments that support teacher development through practices like classroom observation and constructive feedback. They also act as “teachers for teachers,” helping to build a culture of continuous learning.

The model suggests that effective school leadership directly influences student success by enhancing teacher learning. Furthermore, school boards, although more indirectly involved, are seen as crucial in supporting the professional growth of school leaders.

The project highlights that aligning the efforts of teachers, school leaders, and boards can create powerful learning environments, ensuring no student is left behind.
